I am so excited to be beginning my 6th year as a School Counselor here at Craig Elementary, and my 8th year as a Professional Counselor! I received a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Georgia in Child and Family Development. It was during that time that I made the decision to spend my life working with children and families. I went on to earn my Master’s Degree in Community Counseling from The University of Georgia College of Education. While in graduate school I worked in a variety of settings with students in grades K-12. Before coming to Craig Elementary I was employed as a School-Based Mental Health Therapist serving students in Rockdale County Public Schools. I live with my husband, our black lab, and our beautiful baby girl.

I am excited to begin my 3rd year as a school counselor at Craig Elementary, and my 13th year in education. I received a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Georgia in Education and spent the next 10 years teaching in Gwinnett County. It was during that time that I made the decision to pursue my Master’s in School Counseling, and I graduated with my Master’s in May 2016. My husband is an 8th grade teacher in Gwinnett and we have three children - a sixth grader, a second grader, and a kindergartener.
A School Counselor’s Role
As school counselors, our primary responsibility is to promote the academic, personal, and social development of all students. We look forward to offering support to the students, staff, families and community. We will be meeting with students individually and in small groups, conducting classroom lessons, meeting with parents, collaborating with teachers and staff, and consulting with community organizations to benefit and meet the needs of all Craig students and families.
Any student can request to meet with us or they can be referred by a teacher, administrator, or parent. We encourage you to reach out if you have concerns regarding your child. If you would like for one of us to meet with your child, please do not hesitate to contact us directly.
We are here to help students achieve their personal, social and academic goals, as well as provide support for the parents and teachers. We look forward to a great school year!
